ICaWR had a major presence at the 16th State of the Coast Meeting (June 1-3, 2016) in New Orleans, LA.  A large number of ICaWR Research Faculty and associated graduate students presented research findings at the conference.  Sanjana Banerjee (ICaWR Doctoral Fellow)  received the 3rd place Poster award for her excellent research on the ecotoxicological consequences and potential for pollution biomonitoring of the introduction of the channeled apple snail Pomacea canaliculata in Louisiana.  ICaWR had a booth onsite in the exhibition hall that was visited by a large number of interested conference attendees.  Drs. Mark W. Hester and Jenneke Visser organized sessions on barrier island restoration and the effects of flooding on wetland plants respectively.
